Robin Brew with Race Director Kenneth Gasque
In order to celebrate 20 years of coaching at Club La Santa Robin Brew has signed up for 17th Lanzarote Ironman in 2009. Joining Robin will be friends and fellow Triathletes from previous training camps and courses competing for Team Brew who will also be raising money for Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund
Robin said "The thought of doing an Ironman after a 14 year layoff is one that invokes more than a few senses! I will be racing in memory of my wonderful mum, Wendy Brew, who died in 2000 from pancreatic cancer. My mum loved Lanzarote and many people will remember her from the courses in the early days, thoughtful, kind and a truly wonderful person. This race means a lot to me in many ways and I will certainly treat it with the respect it deserves. Thank you to all my friends and fellow Triathletes who have agreed to join 'TEAM BREW' and compete with me in this major event and help raise money for this cause."
